New MDT2010 setup… new SQL database… trying to boot to USB key to test the LiteTouch.iso file… get this message in the log file after it takes a long, long time to bring up the deployment wizard (5 to 10 minutes instead of 30 seconds):

The network name cannot be found.  ZTIGather    4/29/2011 4:12:21 PM    0 (0×0000)

followed by…

ERROR – Unable to map a network drive to \yourservernameyourdatabase$.    ZTIGather    4/29/2011 4:12:21 PM    0 (0×0000)

followed by…

ZTI error opening SQL Connection: [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied. (-2147467259)    ZTIGather    4/29/2011 4:12:37 PM    0 (0×0000)

For some reason, reconfiguring the database rules resolved the issue.  Specifically if you just highlight the Database, you will see a configuration page revealing:

Server Name: yourdeploymentserver

Instance:  SQLEXPRESS

Port:

Network library: DBNMPNTW

SQL Share: yourdeploymentshare

Database name: yourdatabasename

The solution was to go through the configuration wizard again — remove the SQL Share name (listed as optional in the wizard) and then reconfigure again and put it back in.  For some reason it started working.
